Another Draw Expected for United Against an In-Form Brighton

Manchester United will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford this Tuesday night as the Red Devils look to get back into the top four following a dismal past few weeks that has seen them fail to win a single game since before the winter break.

Even then, that game came against West Ham United as the Hammers fell to a 93rd minute Marcus Rashford goal which saw United get their top four battle back on track.

Fast forward three weeks, however, and the club are winless in their past three games all by the same 1-1 scoreline.

Middlesbrough would take the club all the way to penalties in the FA Cup only to knock out Ralf Rangnick’s men, before Burnley and Southampton both fought back to claim a point as Jadon Sancho scored against the Saints just as Paul Pogba netted at Turf Moor.

In reality, Manchester United have been dreadful lately. It seems almost inevitable that they will concede a goal each game with Harry Maguire’s torrid form, while goals are coming at a premium despite so many chances being made.

In fact, Rangnick can’t be blamed so much for the current form of his men given how the club have had 82 shots in their past four games but scored just the four goals.

In truth. United should have been seeing games off with over 2.5 goals regularly lately, but their forwards just can’t seem to finish chances.

They are just a point behind the fourth-placed West Ham ahead of this one, but any further dropped points and it would be trouble for United as Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur all have games in hand below them.

On the other hand, even Brighton sit in ninth with 33 points which is just seven off that of the Red Devils.

The Seagulls are also in much brighter form right now, as they haven't lost in the league since mid-December when they lost to Wolves, with the club winning drawing four and winning three since then.

This form includes two 1–1 draws with Chelsea and a recent 2-0 victory over Watford which has kept them a healthy six points away from dropping into the bottom half.

It’s set to be a close game this one with United seemingly always leaving the door open to let a lead slip.

At the same time, the club have now conceded 32 goals and scored only 38 from 24 games, while Brighton have a similar ratio of 25 goals scored and 23 let in.

Forebet predicts a draw that will see over 2.5 goals here.
