Nevertheless, Maritimo will still feel confident about their chances of securing a result and adding to their points tally away from home at Arouca on Monday night as the visitors have lost just two of their last 10 matches overall in the Liga Portugal.
This improved sequence of results in the past couple of months has helped Maritimo maintain their position of relative safety in the domestic top flight as the visitors occupy 9th place and hold a comfortable seven-point cushion over their hosts, Arouca, prior to Monday night’s clash.
Results away from home continue to disappoint though as Maritimo have managed to collect just three wins on their travels throughout this season to date but the visitors have held the upper hand in recent exchanges against Arouca, winning two of the previous three meetings.
