Sunday’s action in the French top flight continues with a look ahead to the fixture between Lens and Bordeaux at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis with both teams looking to bounce back from defeats last time out in Ligue 1.
Lens were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at lowly Lorient last weekend which became their second defeat on the trot following a previous 2-0 loss at home to 2nd placed Marseille, but Lens do have a golden opportunity to set the record straight this Sunday.

Although overall recent form in Ligue 1 has been sketchy to say the least, having won just twice in their last 10 matches overall (Rennes and St Etienne), Lens have proved to be tough to beat on home soil at their Stade Bollaert-Delelis as the hosts have lost just one of their last seven games.
That loss was to Marseille last week but Lens had previously won four of their preceding six matches at home which consisted of victories over Reims, Metz, Troyes and Rennes.
The bigger picture shows Lens have lost just twice in their previous 12 home games.
Bordeaux dropped down into the relegation zone in Ligue 1 following last weekend’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Reims away from home.
They now have to travel again this Sunday to face Lens on the back of four defeats out of their last five matches overall.
Recent losses to Lille, Marseille and Rennes have also contributed to what has amounted to be a very disappointing campaign for Bordeaux and having won just two of their last 11 games overall in the French top flight, the visitors face another tough assignment at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis this Sunday.
To make matters worse, Bordeaux have lost three out of their last four away games and have conceded a total of 17 goals just within these last four outings on the road which include losses at Strasbourg 5-2, Rennes 6-0 and the aforementioned 5-0 defeat at Reims.
With just four away wins from their last 20 matches away from home in the domestic top flight, Bordeaux look to have their work cut out against a Lens outfit who will no doubt be eager to return to winning ways this Sunday as the hosts look to maintain their push for a possible top five finish.
