The Scottish Premiership action continues on Saturday with this afternoon clash between Celtic and Dundee United at Celtic Park with both teams heading into this encounter on the backs of midweek wins in the domestic top flight.
Celtic secured a third win on the trot on Wednesday night courtesy of a 2-1 win away from home at Hearts which handed The Hoops a valuable three points but although the hosts have now put together an impressive 16-match unbeaten run in the Premiership (a run that includes 13 wins), they still trail the runaway leaders, Rangers, by a margin of four points.

Celtic know they must continue winning games and hope that Rangers slip up somewhere along the line and having won their last four home games on the trot and indeed, still remaining unbeaten at home, winning eight of their 10 games to date, Celtic look set for further success against Dundee United on Saturday.
Goals could feature in this clash too as 8 out of Celtic’s last 11 meetings against Dundee United have resulted in a Celtic win and over 2.5 goals scored.
Dundee United ended a miserable run of six defeats on the trot in the Scottish Premiership with a midweek 2-1 home win over Ross County which will give The Terrors a welcome boost prior to this Saturday’s encounter at Celtic Park.
Within this worrying six-match losing streak, Dundee United suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Saturday’s opponents, Celtic, at home at their Tannadice ground.
The bigger picture shows that Dundee United have managed to pick up just two wins out of their last 12 matches in the Scottish top flight.
Having lost eight of these last 12 games, the visitors look to have their work cut out against a Celtic outfit who are gunning for Rangers and whom are unbeaten in their last 16 matches overall.
League wins on the road have also been sporadic at best for Dundee United who have collected just four wins out of their last 27 outings on their travels, so this upcoming clash at Celtic Park looks to be a very tough assignment for The Terrors.
Celtic hold a decent head-to-head record against Dundee United and the hosts should record another win over their visitors with a few goals thrown in for good measure.
