The French Ligue 1 action continues on Sunday with Bordeaux playing host to Strasbourg at their Stade Matmut-Atlantique with the hosts looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat on the trot in the domestic top flight.
Recent losses against Lille and Marseille at home in 3-2 and 1-0 defeats were further exacerbated by a heavy 6-0 demolition at the hands of Rennes last time out and although the shell-shocked Bordeaux outfit return to home surroundings this Sunday, they face another tough opponent in the shape of Strasbourg in this clash.

Bordeaux have managed to win just once in their last nine matches overall in Ligue 1 which was a 2-1 win on the road at Troyes but six defeats within this period have seen the hosts plummet down the table to second from bottom.
In addition, Bordeaux have won just once at home all season and they’ve failed to keep a single clean sheet in the process along with losing four out of their last five games on home soil at their Stade Matmut-Atlantique as well.
Strasbourg have put together a sustained and impressive sequence of results of late in the French top flight as the visitors have suffered just the one defeat out of their last 10 matches overall.
That rare loss came in the form of a 2-0 loss at home to Marseille but Strasbourg have also recorded six wins as well within this 10-match period which has helped lift them up into 4th place on the Ligue 1 standings and just four points shy of 2nd placed Nice.
In addition to winning their last three games on the rot overall, Strasbourg have also impressed on their travels in recent times as the visitors have also picked up three away wins on the trot as well, recording wins at Nice 3-0, Metz 2-0 and Clermont 2-0, keeping clean sheets in each of these victories as well.
The bigger picture shows Strasbourg have lost just three of their last 14 away games in the French top flight.
Strasbourg have lost just once in their last seven meetings against Bordeaux and have won six of these prior encounters so the visitors look in good shape to add to their points tally here.
