There’s midweek action from the Spanish top flight on Tuesday night when second from bottom club, Cadiz, play host to mid-table Espanyol at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla with the hosts still searching for their first home win of the season.
As it is, Cadiz have only managed to pick up just two wins to date in what has been a difficult and ultimately disappointing campaign so far this term and both of these victories have been recorded on their travels at Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilbao, in 2-1 and 1-0 wins respectively.

However, Cadiz have had to endure long periods of relative drought and the hosts will head into this Tuesday night clash having failed to win any of their last seven matches overall in La Liga, and having also suffered five defeats within this poor sequence of results as well.
Cadiz have failed to score in four of these seven games overall while results at home have been quite simply poor; the hosts have failed to win any of their last 11 home games in the Spanish top flight.
Espanyol occupy a mid-table position of 11th in La Liga and will be hoping they can bounce back from their recent 2-1 defeat at home to Elche last time out in the domestic top flight.
Espanyol have lost and won in alternate fashion in their last nine games overall so potentially anything could happen on Tuesday night but a recent 2-1 win away from home at Valencia on their last outing on their travels should at least give the visitors a welcome boost ahead of this trip to the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.
However, backing Espanyol for a straight away win here may seem a little risky as the visitors have claimed just the one victory out of their last 19 matches on the road but they have registered a total of seven wins to date overall this season and perhaps look the more likely to pick up the maximum three points in this encounter.
In addition, Espanyol have held the upper hand over Cadiz in recent previous exchanges so they may get the nod here.
Espanyol have won the last two meetings on the trot against Cadiz and the visitors look in good shape to grab a result here on Tuesday night as well.
