Lorient face an extremely tough fixture on Wednesday night when they play host to the runaway Ligue 1 leaders, PSG, not least because the hosts have lost their last seven matches on the trot in the domestic top flight.
Lorient have conceded a total of 16 goals in this seven-match losing streak whilst the hosts have managed to score just 2 goals in reply, so the home side look to have a mountain to climb despite holding supposed home advantage at their Stade Yves Allainmat.

These seven losses have resulted in Lorient to drop down into the early relegation places in Ligue 1 where they currently sit second from bottom in the division and although they have collected three wins to date on home soil, Lorient have struggled in subsequent matches.
Victories over Monaco, Lille and Nice have been followed by draws with Clermont and Bordeaux before slipping to three defeats on the trot, losing to Brest, Rennes and Nantes respectively.
Lorient recorded a 3-2 win over PSG in their last meeting at home but PSG have won 12 of the previous 13 encounters.
Onto PSG and the visitors hold a significant 13-point cushion over 2nd placed Marseille at the top of Ligue 1 and having suffered just the one defeat throughout this season’s Ligue 1 campaign to date and winning 14 of their 18 games so far, PSG look set to further extend the gap at the top of the league.
Since their 2-0 defeat away from home at Rennes, PSG have embarked upon an impressive nine-game unbeaten run which includes six wins and three draws, while results away from home have also been dominant.
PSG have lost just one of their last 17 matches on their travels whilst also picking up 13 wins in the process, so the visitors will be confident that they can grab all three points in Wednesday night’s trip to the Stade Yves Allainmat.
Nine of these 13 away wins have also seen PSG win by 2 goals or more and although the visitors will be without the likes of Mbappe (9 goals) and Neymar (3 goals) through a pile up of yellow cards and injury respectively, Icardi and Messi along with the goalscoring midfielders should see them on their way to all three points here.
