We may only be 17 games into the 2021/22 La Liga season, but it already feels like Monday’s clash between Cadiz and Granada is something of a relegation six-pointer.

Granada sit fifteenth in the standings – three points outside the relegation zone – having won just three La Liga games this season.

Meanwhile, Cadiz find themselves eighteenth – two points from safety and four points ahead of last-place Levante.

Cadiz have only managed to win two of their 16 league matches this term, recording six draws and eight losses in the process.

It is worth noting that they head into Monday’s clash on a three-game losing streak in La Liga, having fallen to Getafe, Atletico Madrid and Elche in recent weeks.

Having conceded a whopping 30 goals this season, Cadiz have the worst defensive record in the Spanish top flight.

Due to a poor end to the previous campaign, Cadiz have won just four of their previous 24 league encounters.

As for Granada, they claimed a much-needed victory over Alaves last time out – extending their unbeaten streak to three games in all competitions.

However, they have only managed to win one of their last four La Liga clash – registering one draw and two losses along the way.

Having netted just 16 goals in 15 league games this term, Granada are averaging a measly 0.9 goals per game in La Liga.

When you look at the bigger picture, Granada have only managed to win three of their previous 21 away games in Spain’s top tier.

Head-to-head: Granada have won just one of their last six meetings with Cadiz, recording three draws and two losses during that period.

It is also worth pointing out that each of the previous four encounters between Cadiz and Granada have dished up under 2.5 goals.

Team news: Jon Ander Garrido is Cadiz’s only injury absentee at the moment. The defensive midfielder has been sidelined for a number of weeks with a knee problem.

Granada also have one player sidelined through injury. Centre-back Neyder Lozano isn’t expected to make the trip to Cadiz.

Both teams will be eager to avoid defeat on Monday to prevent slipping further into the relegation battle. With that in mind, they are likely to produce a tense and cagey affair.

Forebet predicts that Cadiz and Granada will play out a low-scoring draw on Monday night.
