Celta Vigo and Valencia are separated by just two places and three points as they prepare to go head-to-head at Balaidos on Sunday.

Valencia sit eleventh in the La Liga table – nine points shy of the top four – after drawing each of their previous three games.

On the flip side, Celta find themselves thirteenth – only four points clear of the relegation zone. Can they steer clear of the bottom three this weekend.

Celta Vigo head into Sunday’s clash on a four-match unbeaten streak in La Liga, having picked up a win and three draws since their last loss.

Following three straight draws with Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona and Villarreal, Celta beat Deportivo Alaves 2-1 last weekend.

Regardless of their recent upturn, it is worth pointing out that Celta Vigo have only managed to win one of their previous nine home games in La Liga.

It is also worth noting that Celta are among the lowest scorers in Spain’s top tier this season, having netted just 16 goals in 15 outings.

Meanwhile, Valencia have made an indifferent start to the La Liga campaign – registering four wins, seven draws and four losses in their opening 15 games.

Just like Celta, they have picked up one victory and three draws from their last four encounters and head into Sunday’s game on a three-match drawing streak.

After beating Villarreal, Valencia recorded a dramatic 3-3 draw with Atletico Madrid before notching a stalemate with both Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano.

When you look at the bigger picture, Valencia have won just two of their previous 24 away games in La Liga.

Head-to-head: Across the past four La Liga meetings between Celta Vigo and Valencia, both teams have picked up two wins.

In the wider scheme of things, it is worth pointing out that Celta have only managed to win two of their last nine league matches against Valencia.

Team news: Iago Aspas and Santi Mina are set to lead the line for Celta this weekend. The former has bagged six goals and an assist this term, while the latter has notched five goals and three assists.

Valencia will be without the injured Thierry Correia on Sunday. That means Dimitri Foulquier will continue to fill the right-back berth.

Both Celta and Valencia are enjoying an impressive run at the moment. For that reason, Sunday’s clash is likely to be a tight affair.

With very little between the two sides in the table, Forebet predicts that Celta and Valencia will play out a low-scoring draw.
