Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool when they welcome Newcastle United to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners sit fifth in the Premier League table – 14 points ahead of last-place Newcastle, who recorded a thrilling 3-3 draw with Brentford last time out.

Mikel Arteta’s side were enjoying a ten-game unbeaten streak before visiting Anfield last weekend. However, Liverpool ended that run in spectacular style.

Arsenal saw just 37% possession against the Reds. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s men chalked up 19 shots on Aaron Ramsdale’s goal.

Still, it is worth noting that Arsenal have won three of their last four Premier League games and have lost only one of their previous nine.

With 13 goals to their name, the Gunners are the seventh-lowest scorers in the division. Arteta will be eager for his forwards to start getting on the scoresheet more often.

Across all competitions, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Arsenal’s top scorer this season. The Gabon forward has bagged seven goals and two assists.

Emile Smith Rowe has been impressive, too, contributing five goals and two assists – including three goals in his past four league appearances.

As for Newcastle, they will feel disappointed to have come away from last weekend’s match against Brentford with only a point.

Despite registering a whopping 23 shots – nine of which were on target – Eddie Howe’s men were forced to come from behind on two occasions to rescue a draw.

The Magpies are still without a single win this term after notching six draws and six losses in their opening 12 league games.

They also have the joint-worst defensive record in the division, having conceded a mammoth 27 goals. That said, they have netted two goals more than Arsenal.

Head-to-head: Not only have Newcastle lost each of their last seven meetings with Arsenal in all competitions, but they have also lost 17 of their previous 18.

It is also worth pointing out that Arsenal haven’t conceded a single goal in each of their past six matches against the Magpies.

Team news: Arsenal are currently without injured duo Granit Xhaka and Sead Kolasinac. Folarin Balogun is also a doubt for Saturday’s clash.

On the other hand, Newcastle will travel to North London without the injured pair of Paul Dummett and Fabian Schar.

Although there were signs of improvement for the Magpies last time out, the Gunners should be too strong for Howe’s side on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal will net over 1.5 goals and prevent Newcastle from scoring at the Emirates.
