Girona will aim to secure their fourth win in five Segunda Division games when they visit Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez to face Tenerife on Monday night.

Girona have moved up to thirteenth place in the table thanks to an impressive turnaround in recent times.

At the opposite end of the standings, Tenerife find themselves fourth – although they are only six points ahead of Girona.

Tenerife were held to a goalless draw by Ibiza last time out, extending their unbeaten streak to three matches in the process.

They have only lost four of their 14 Segunda Division outings this term, picking up seven wins and three draws along the way.

Tenerife have won four of their previous seven league matches, scoring over 1.5 all in four of those victories.

Having conceded just 12 goals in 14 games this season, Tenerife boast the joint-second best defensive record in Spain’s second tier.

Girona head into Monday’s clash on a four-game unbeaten streak, having picked up three wins and a draw since their last loss.

They came from behind to beat Alcorcon 3-1 on Thursday, with Cristhian Stuani coming off the bench to net a second-half hat-trick.

Girona made a poor start to the season, winning just one of their opening five matches. However, they have turned things around in recent weeks.

It is worth noting that half of Girona’s league games have produced over 2.5 goals this term, while the other half have dished up under 2.5 goals.

Head-to-head: In the past six meetings between these two sides, both teams have picked up two wins, while the other two games ended in a draw.

Interestingly, both sides have kept two clean sheets in the last four encounters, with under 2.5 goals being scored on each occasion in that time.

Team news: Tenerife currently have three players sidelined through injury – Borja Lasso (fibula), Matias Nahuel (cruciate) and Javi Alonso (meniscus).

On the flip side, Girona will be without injured duo Dario Sarmiento (muscle) and Borja Garcia (calf) for the trip to Tenerife.

Although Girona have upped their game recently, Tenerife are expected to claim all three points on home soil.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Tenerife will score over 1.5 goals on their way to victory over Girona.
