The Italian Serie A action continues on Saturday evening with the clash between Hellas Verona and Juventus at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi with the hosts in reasonably confident mood having produced some encouraging results of late in the domestic top flight.
Following a disastrous start to this new Serie A season which saw Hellas Verona suffer three league defeats on the trot, the hosts have since staged a recovery as they’ve lost just one further game in their last seven matches overall.
That defeat was a 3-2 loss away at AC Milan but victories over Roma, Spezia and Lazio, the latter two being convincing 4-0 and 4-1 wins respectively, should see a confident Verona side take to the field on Saturday evening.
There’s still a few question marks about Hellas Verona’s consistency.
The hosts have managed to win just three out of their last 19 matches overall in the Italian top flight and they’re expected to face a tough test against Juventus on Saturday.
Onto Juventus then, and the Old Lady were handed an unexpected 2-1 defeat at home to Sassuolo during the week which put an end to their previously encouraging six-match unbeaten run in Serie A.
Prior to this recent midweek defeat, Juventus had posted four wins within their last six matches which included victories over Spezia, Sampdoria, Torino and Roma along with picking up points in draws with both of the Milan clubs, AC and Inter, both in 1-1 stalemates.
Juventus have also produced a pretty consistent string of results on their travels as well in the domestic top flight as the visitors have lost just twice in their previous 13 matches with losses incurred at Atalanta and Napoli, while also picking up six wins in the process.
The Old Lady have also failed to score in just one of these previous 13 games on the road.
This gives them a decent chance of returning to winning ways away at Hellas Verona this weekend as they look to lift themselves up into the top six of Serie A with a win at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.
Verona have produced some promising results but Juventus possess the quality to gain a result here as the visitors look to keep in touch with the teams sitting in the top six.
