The high-flying AC Milan will play hosts to the mid-table Hellas Verona this Saturday as the 18-time champions of Serie A chase down the unbeaten Napoli not long after Lazio and Inter Milan meet in a crucial clash.

Milan are one of the three unbeaten sides in the Italian top flight with Inter and Napoli being the other two.

However, with a 1-1 draw with Juventus a few weeks back as the Naples outfit beat them 2-1 earlier in the campaign, Stefano Pioli’s men trail the league leaders by two points and must keep on winning to continue in positive form.

The rise of Milan recently has been exceptional. The club have managed to swap Europa League days for a return to the Champions League and it seems they will be in another title race once more.

Nevertheless, Pioli has got them playing incredibly well and they seem like one of Europe’s most well-drilled outfits.

As of now, Milan have managed to concede only five goals, and Napoli are the only side to boast better with their three.

At the same time, their 15 goals scored can only be bettered by Inter and Napoli, but given how the Rossoneri have managed to beat both Lazio and Atalanta already, it’s fair to say they’re right in there this year.

Verona, on the other hand, have had a very topsy-turvy start to the season, but given how they finished 10th last season, sitting 12th on eight points right now isn’t the worst place to be.

Nevertheless, their 15 goals scored and their 14 conceded is a little concerning, especially when you consider seven of their 15 netted have come in their past two games.

In these games, the club managed to thump Spezia 4-0 and were only as Giovanni Simeone, Davide Faraoni, Gianluca Caprari and Daniel Bessa all scored in Verona’s performance of the season thus far. They also drew 3-3 with Genoa as Nikola Kalinic stole them a point in the 91st minute.

Ultimately, this should be a win for AC Milan. Pioli’s men have been absolutely brilliant so far, and bar a bit of bad luck in the Champions League, it’s been near enough faultless from start to now for the San Siro outfit.

With this in mind, along with Verona’s struggling defence, Forebet predicts a win here for AC Milan with over 2.5 goals coming in the game as they continue their march towards the summit of Serie A.
