Argentina and Peru will meet in a crucial World Cup Qualifiers group over in South America as both sides look to bid for a ticket to Qatar 2022 with Lionel Scaloni’s men trailing Brazil just as Peru look to break into the top four.

Over in the South American side of things, the top four teams out of the 10 competing for a place at the World Cup will qualify, which leaves the fifth spot in the table advancing into the inter-confederation play-offs, which as of now, seems like Peru’s most likely route to success.

They can still get into the automatic places with six more games remaining after this one, but the likes of Colombia, Ecuador, and Uruguay look too strong for them.

Ricardo Gareca’s side are currently on 11 points in the CONMEBOL table and a win over Argentina could get them closer to the qualification spots, but regardless of the result here, Peru have a lot of work to do in the six remaining games left in this group.

As of now, the nation have won three times, which is the same as fifth-placed Colombia, however, their six defeats and 18 goals conceded in only 11 games has ultimately sent them crashing towards the bottom end and put qualifying for Qatar into serious question.

Nevertheless, a draw with Uruguay and a win over Peru and Chile has given them slight hope, but on the other hand, a defeat to Bolivia who were down to 10 men for some of the game was a very telling sign and showed how tough it's going to be for them to get to the World Cup.

As for Argentina, they have all but booked their place at next winter’s finals as they have a game in hand over everyone in the division except Brazil following that bizarre game suspension.

At the same time, they are second and six points clear of Uruguay in the final automatic qualification spot.

Elsewhere, another record-breaking Lionel Messi goal made him the highest-scoring South American of all time against Uruguay as Rodrio De Paul and Lautaro Martinez also bagged in an easy day at the office for the two-time world champions.

However, Argentina have had four draws from their 10 games thus far which has been the reason for them trailing Brazil. As a result, Forebet predicts a close game here and a draw that will see under 2.5 goals with both sides eager to get points on the board.
