After starting the La Liga season in fine form, Valencia have struggled over the course of their last three games. Los Che are winless in three straight games, sinking from second place in the standings down to eighth.

Cadiz go into matchday 8 in 15th place in the La Liga standings. The Yellow Submarine has taken six points from 21 this season in La Liga. They have been outscored 11-7 by opponents. Cadiz are in their second straight season in La Liga after achieving promotion in 2020.

Last season, Valencia failed to win either game against Cadiz as the Yellow Submarine took four points from six. Cadiz won 2-1 at home against Valencia with goals from Juan Cala and Marcos Mauro on either side of a Kevin Gameiro goal. The winning strike came in the 88th minute.

Cadiz have been poor at home this season with just two points from 12 being taken. They have been outscored 6-3 on their own turf by opponents.

Valencia’s road form has been so-so. They have taken four points from nine this season with six goals for and five against. Valencia’s last away game finished in a 3-1 loss to title contenders Sevilla.

Alvaro Cevera has three players on the injury list at Cadiz going into matchday 8. Defender Fali has a muscle injury and is a doubt to play. Midfielders Jose Mari and Jon Ander Garrido are both ruled out with long-term injuries.

Jose Bordalas has five players on the injury list and one player who will serve a suspension. Defender Hugo Guillamon is a doubt due to a ligament injury. Defender Jose Gaya is likely to miss the game with a hamstring strain.

Defender Thierry Correia has a hip injury and is unlikely to be back until after the international break. Midfielder Carlos Soler, the team’s leading goalscorer, is a doubt due to a back injury. Finally, forward Denis Cheryshev is a doubt with a knee injury.

Bordalas is also without the suspended Maxi Gomez. Gomez has one goal while Soler has scored three times.

Four of Valencia’s last five games in La Liga ended with over 2.5 goals scored. Los Che should see over 2.5 goals once more against Cadiz. Three of Cadiz’s last five league games ended with over 2.5 goals scored.

Valencia are the better side going into the game and should put an end to their winless streak. The game should see both sides find the back of the net with Los Che getting a win and improving their chances of Champions League qualification next season.
