The French Ligue 1 action continues on Saturday and features the clash between Nice and Brest at the Allianz Riviera as the hosts look to record back-to-back wins in the French top flight following last weekend’s resounding 3-0 win away from home at Saint-Etienne.
Fourth placed Nice had previously suffered a 1-0 defeat at Lorient but last week’s win will have restored the host’s confidence ahead of this weekend’s Ligue 1 fixtures where Nice will be keen to continue their unbeaten start to this new season at their Allianz Riviera ground.

Nice still remain unbeaten after their first three home games of this new campaign having drawn with Reims and Monaco in 0-0 and 2-2 stalemates while a comprehensive 4-0 rout over Bordeaux was even more impressive.
Form and results at home have been pretty steady for Nice as the hosts have lost just one of their last nine games overall and this solid sequence of results also include wins chalked up over Nimes, Marseille, Montpellier, Saturday’s opponents, Brest, and the aforementioned Bordeaux.
Brest suffered a second defeat on the trot in Ligue 1 last weekend when they were dealt a 2-1 loss at home to Metz and this latest loss also condemned the visitors into second from bottom spot and a place in the early relegation zone standings.
Brest still remain winless after the opening eight matches of this new Ligue 1 season and this poor run of results to date include defeats suffered at the hands of PSG, Strasbourg, Nantes and Metz, so this upcoming trip to Nice could also prove to be a tough encounter for the visitors.
The bigger picture shows that Brest have now failed to win any of their last 12 matches overall.
Their only highlight in their previous 18 games overall came in the form of a 2-1 win at Saint-Etienne back in April of last season.
Results away from home haven’t been much better as Brest have managed just one win out of their last 17 matches on their travels and includes 10 defeats as well, so the prospects of an away win in Nice on Saturday look distinctly unlikely.
