Lens will play host to Lille on Saturday afternoon at their Stade Bollaert-Delelis looking to extend their unbeaten start in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign to six matches against last season’s title-winners.
Lens have picked up points in draws with Rennes, Saint-Etienne and Lorient while wins against Monaco and Bordeaux have also boosted the hosts in these early stages of this new French top flight season and they’ll be keen to get one over Lille on Saturday afternoon.

The bigger picture also looks healthy from Lens’s point of view as the hosts have lost just three of their last 22 matches overall in Ligue 1 and also includes eight wins but also a staggering 11 stalemates as well.
Lens have also lost just once in their previous 11 matches on home soil at their Stade Bollaert-Delelis as well, but although the hosts lost to Lille by a 3-0 margin in their last meeting at home, they’ve also been involved in seven draws within this period as well.
Lille have made a disappointing start to this new Ligue 1 season having registered just one win to date this term, with this coming in the shape of a 2-1 home win against Montpellier but the visitors will be keen to set the record straight here following last week’s loss at Lorient.
Defeats at home to Nice 4-0 and last weekend’s 2-1 loss away from home at Lorient should see a Lille outfit keen to redeem themselves here by getting a result on the road, and having held the upper hand over Lens in previous exchanges, the visitors may well get something from this outing.
Results away from home though have been underwhelming where Lille have been concerned as the visitors are still in search of grabbing their first away win of the new season, drawing twice and losing once.
Stalemates at Metz and Saint-Etienne have been followed by that loss at Lorient this term but that has been Lille’s only loss on the road from their previous 17 matches on their travels.
Lille are unbeaten in each of the last 10 meetings against Lens and although the visitors have made a slow start to this new Ligue 1 season, Lille should have enough to pick up at least a point here in what could end up being a draw.
