Denmark are the pacesetters of World Cup qualifying Group F. The Danes have been excellent collecting 15 points from 15 on offer. On Tuesday, Kasper Hjulmand’s team faces off against Israel in Copenhagen.

Israel are second in Group F with 10 points from 15 possible. With Denmark’s scintillating form, second-place and progress to the World Cup qualification playoffs may be the best aim for Israel.

While Denmark are in first place and can take a massive step toward World Cup qualification on Tuesday night, Israel have Scotland and Austria breathing down their neck. Scotland are two points back of Israel while Austria are three points adrift of second place.

Denmark go into Tuesday’s home match having won back-to-back qualifiers during the September international break. A 2-0 win over Scotland was followed by a 1-0 win over the Faroe Islands. The Danes waited until the 85th minute to get the winner from Jonas Wind against the Faroe Island minnows.

Israel go into the game following two wins in September. A 4-0 victory over the Faroe Islands was followed by a 5-2 victory over Austria. Manager Willibald Ruttensteiner has Israel playing some of their best football in years.

Demark visited Israel on matchday 1 of Group F. The Danes claimed a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Martin Braithwaite and Wind. Wind is one of four Denmark players to score two goals in qualifying.

The Danes and Israelis have played nine times all time dating back to 1964. Denmark have been excellent in games against Israel posting a record of 8W-0D-1L. Israel’s only win against Denmark came in 1978. The team’s last five games all ended in wins for Denmark.

In the nine all-time games these nations have played against each other, Denmark have outscored Israel by a score of 20-4.

Hjulmand should select a strong side for the game on Tuesday night. It should see Wind make away in the starting XI for Yussuf Poulsen. Kasper Dolberg and Braitwaite were both left out of the team due to injuries. Simon Kjaer should also return to the starting XI along with Joakim Maelhe.

As for Israel, expect Ruttensteiner to play the strongest squad possible to claim points against the group leaders. The attacking talent the manager has right now is strong. It includes Manor Solomon, Mu’nas Dabbur, and Eran Zahavi. Shon Weissman and Liel Abada are also strong options off the bench.

Denmark should continue their excellent form in Group F and against Israel with a big win. The Danes should claim a victory with over 2.5 goals scored to push their record to 9W-0D-1L all time. It will also take them one step closer to the World Cup 2022.
