On Sunday afternoon, Burgos host Real Valladolid at the Estadio Municipal de El Plantio, as the visitors look to build on a promising start to their Segunda campaign.
Burgos are in the Segunda this season for the first time since 2002. It was so long ago that reigning Spanish champions Atletico Madrid were the last opponents of their previous stint in the second tier.

Their return has not gone well so far, as they have picked up just one point from their first three league games of the season. Last time out, they suffered a 1-0 home defeat by Eibar.
Although it probably means very little, Burgos are now winless in nine games in the Segunda. They will need to get past that psychological block if they are to survive this season.
One thing that has been missing for the home side so far this season has been goals, as Burgos have failed to score in any of their three Segunda outings so far this term.
Real Valladolid have made a solid return to the second tier after their relegation from La Liga last season. The club famously owned by Brazilian legend Ronaldo has opened their campaign with two wins and a draw. Last time out they recorded a 2-0 win at Lugo.
The game saw Sergio’s team keep a second straight clean sheet in the Segunda.
Valladolid’s opening to the season has stretched their away record in the Spanish second tier to four matches, having recorded three wins and a draw dating back to their last spell in the Segunda in 2018.
The visitors have also been prolific on the road in the second tier, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six league matches on their travels.
Forebet predicts that Real Valladolid will record a victory in a relatively low-scoring match, a result that will continue the visitors push for an instant return to La Liga.
