On Friday night, Dundalk and Drogheda United go head-to-head at Oriel Park, as both teams look to move clear of the relegation play-off spot in the Irish Premier Division.
Dundalk are currently seventh-place in the table, just two points clear of the relegation play-off spot. The home side head into this clash on the back of a poor run of league form. A 1-0 defeat at Derry City last time out means that Dundalk have lost three of their last four league outings.

Vinny Perth’s team have been inconsistent at home in the Irish top-flight, winning just three of their last seven matches on home soil. A 4-1 defeat by St Patricks Athletic ended a three-game unbeaten run at Oriel Park.
Although their recent home games in the league have not necessarily been high-scoring, both teams have scored in five of their last six league games on home soil.
Drogheda are just three points above the home team in the table, but United have played two more games than Dundalk.
The visitors have been on a poor run of form of late, as they have failed to win in their last five Premier Division outings, having suffered four straight defeats.
Finding the net has been a big issue for the visitors of late, as they have failed to score in three of their last four league matches, scoring just once in the process.
At the other end of the pitch, they have also conceded at least two goals in three of those aforementioned four league outings.
Drogheda have failed to win in five away matches, having picked up just two draws and suffering three defeats in the process. Not keeping a clean sheet in six league games on their travels has not helped the visitor’s chances of ending that poor away run.
Forebet predicts that Dundalk will record a potentially vital victory in a high-scoring clash to move further clear of the relegation play-off spot.
