Crvena zvezda will welcome CFR Cluj to the Rajko Mitic Stadium in what is set to be the biggest game of either sides’ season so far as they bid to get into the Europa League following their Champions League exits.

Crvena zvezda had the chance to make it into the Champions League this season once more, but as has happened a lot this campaign, the league leaders of certain divisions have come crashing out.

The Serbian giants met with Sheriff Tiraspol in the third qualifying round of Europe's elite competition and they had a great chance to advance when they drew 1-1 on home soil.

However, with the away goal rule now extinct, Crvena zvezda simply had to win on the night and they couldn't hope for any luck elsewhere.

Sheriff would win the game 1-0 and force their opponents into the Europa League play-offs, but this hasn’t deferred away from what has been another sensational start to the Serbian top flight for them.

The club are coming off the back of demolishing all of Serbia by going the entire league season unbeaten, where they racked up an incredible 108 points from 38 games.

At the same time, Crvena zvezda scored 114 goals and dropped just six points all season long, making it the greatest triumph in the league’s history.

They are also led by Serbian legend, Dejan Stanković, who boasts three wins and one draw in the league, and they are seemingly well on course to make it three league titles in a row under his leadership.

As for CFR Cluj, they have once again rocketed to the top of the Liga I in Romania, as they have won all five league games, scored eight and let in just three.

Once again, however, just like the table-toppers from Serbia, the Romanian champions also crashed out in the Champions League third qualifying round after a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Young Boys of Switzerland.

Right now, both Crvena zvezda and CFR Cluj enter the game in very positive form, despite their Champions League heartache. The two are unbeaten in their domestic leagues and are expected to win their respective league titles again also.

With this said, given how Stanković’s men are in such phenomenal form and have been mainstays in the Europa League bar the odd year they make it to the Champions League, Forebet predicts that they should get the job done here and prevail 1-0.
