On Wednesday morning, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors host Gwangju at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in the K League, as the home team look to continue their promising recent form.
Jeonbuk head into this clash on the back of five wins in their last six games in all competitions, although four of those games have been in the AFC Champions League.
Their recent form in the K League has not been as convincing, although they have won two of their last three matches in the top-flight. Their league form has been enough for the home side to be second place in the South Korean top-flight table.
They are currently eight points behind leaders Ulsan but have three games in hand on their rivals at the top of the table. A win here would certainly boost their title hopes.
One aspect of Jeonbuk’s form that needs to improve if they are to catch Ulsan is their home results, as they have won just once in four K League matches on home soil.
Their recent home games in the South Korean top-flight have at least offered decent entertainment value, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last three home matches.
While Jeonbuk are eying the title, Gwangju are just attempting to get off the bottom of the table after a poor league campaign so far. However, they are only three points from safety, so they are not yet cut adrift.
The visitors have won just one of their last 11 matches in the South Korean top-flight. Their recent league games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league outings.
Gwangju’s recent away form has been woeful, as they have lost their last five K League on their travels.
Forebet predicts that Jeonbuk will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to enhance their title hopes.
