Friday afternoon brings us further action from the Finnish top flight with 4th placed FC Lahti playing host to second from bottom club, KTP, when the two teams meet at the Lahden Stadion with FC Lahti looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Veikkausliiga.

After a bumpy start to this new Finnish top flight campaign which saw FC Lahti suffer two defeats within their opening three matches of the new season, losing to KuPS and HJK in 4-2 and 2-0 defeats respectively, FC Lahti have since produced a solid recovery.

FC Lahti have put together a solid 10-match unbeaten run in the domestic top flight which consists of five wins.

Five draws, with three of their five wins being picked up on home turf at their Lahden Stadion with victories gained over Honka, Ilves and most impressive of all, a 2-1 win against 5th placed SJK.

The bigger picture shows that FC Lahti have lost just one of their last 11 games at home, winning six of these, while the likes of midfielder Assehnoun (5 goals) along with forwards Chinedu and Kandji (3 goals apiece), look the most likely for the hosts.

Onto KTP, and the visitors currently occupy second from bottom in the Veikkausliiga having managed to register just one league win to date so far in this season’s domestic top flight campaign.

KTP’s solitary success so far this term came in the shape of a 3-0 win away from home at fellow strugglers, third from bottom outfit, Haka, but six defeats and four draws later, the visitors now occupy the lower reaches of the Veikkausliiga.

The immediate outlook for KTP doesn’t look too bright either as the bigger picture shows that the visitors have managed to collect just two wins from their previous 21 matches overall, while also failing to win any of their last 10 games as well.

Results away from home have also been poor where KTP have been concerned as the visitors have won just two of their last 18 matches on their travels, losing nine of these games and also failing to score in eight matches too.

FC Lahti have won each of the previous four meetings on the trot at home against KTP and the hosts look in good shape to make it five in a row on Friday afternoon.
