The Russian Premier League kicks off this weekend with a full slate of matches. On Friday night, FC Rostov host Dynamo Moscow to start off their respective campaigns.

Manager Sandro Schwarz is aiming to end the team’s poor run of results in Rostov and could do it this weekend. FC Rostov go into the game having won this fixture at home last season 4-1.

The White Blues’ away form saw them record 18 points from 45, which was good for eighth in terms of road points. Dynamo Moscow were –6 in away goal difference with 17 for and 23 against.
Daniil Fomin led Dynamo Moscow in goals last season with six. The defensive midfielder’s six goals show the lack of danger Dynamo Moscow’s forwards created last term. Schwarz needs the team’s forwards to step up this season and score goals.
FC Rostov were led in goals in 2020-21 by the combination of Dmitry Poloz and Kento Hashimoto. The two players scored six goals apiece. The two players will likely be in the FC Rostov starting XI on Friday night and ready to score goals.
Although the away team have failed to win the last nine matches between FC Rostov and Dynamo Moscow, the capital club are unbeaten in six of those nine games.
Dynamo Moscow should put an end to the trend of the home team staying unbeaten in games between the two clubs. Dynamo Moscow should claim a low-scoring win over FC Rostov and kickstart their season in the Russian Premier League.
