Molde sit atop the Eliteserien after 13 matchdays. Erling Moe’s team finished second in the Eliteserien last season as Bodo/Glimt pipped them to the title. This season, Molde are fighting for the title once more and are favourites to lift it.
Lillestrom will host Molde on Sunday Arasen Stadion. The home side are seeking their first win over Molde since 2016 in the league. Since that win five seasons ago, Molde are on a six-match unbeaten run versus Lillestrom in the league.

Molde are the Eliteserien’s in-form team. They took 15 points from the last 18 on offer in the league scoring 16 goals and allowing three to opponents.
Lillestrom, on the other hand, are second in the Eliteserien form table. They took 14 points from the last 18 available and scored 11 times while allowing six. Lillestrom are on a six-match unbeaten run, making this Sunday’s game a massive fixture in the Norwegian top flight.
Despite being the league’s second-most in-form team, Lillestrom are in seventh place and 12 points behind Molde in the Eliteserien standings.
Manager Geir Bakke will hope home-field advantage pays off on Sunday. Lillestrom are on a four-match winning streak at the Arasen Stadion. They have taken 12 points from 15 at home scoring eight goals while conceding five times.
Molde are joint-top of the Eliteserien in away points. They have taken 11 points on the road from 18 available. If there is a downfall to this Molde team, it could be their away form. They are +4 in goal difference with 11 goals for and seven against.
Lillstrom manager Bakke has no new injuries to worry about this weekend and will have a full squad to choose from. Moe isn’t as lucky, however. Forward Bjorn Sigurdarson is a doubt with a back injury.
Moe could be without midfielders Fredrik Sjolstad and Martin Ellingsen. Both are due back at any time from an ankle and knee injury respectively. Defender Haraldseid is a doubt due to a knee cap issue.
Lillestrom were promoted from the second division for the 2021 season. Bakke’s team are doing well in the league and in form. However, Molde should continue their great play versus Lillestrom on Sunday with a win.
Both teams are scoring goals and the match should see more than 2.5 scored. Expect this one to be a close affair with Molde edging out Lillestrom in the end.
