The home side also has four games in hand on their second-place rivals in the race for Champions League action for next season.
Hideki Matsunaga’s team head into this clash on the back of five wins in their last eight matches in the J-League, including a 2-1 win over Shimizu S-Pulse last time out.
Their recent matches in the Japanese top-flight have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight games in the J-League.
Yokohama Marinos are unbeaten in their previous ten home matches in the J-League, having recorded seven wins in the process.
The home side has been relatively prolific on home soil of late in the league, as they have scored at least two goals in three of their last four home matches.
Similarly, to the home team, Sagan Tosu are eying that second spot in the J-League. The visitors currently lie in fourth place in the table, but are a point adrift, despite having played two more games than their hosts in the Japanese top-flight.
The visitors are unbeaten in their last eight league matches. However, four of their last five matches in the J-League have ended in draws.
Their most recent league outings have been tight, low-scoring affairs, as there has been under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings in the Japanese top-flight.
Forebet predicts that this game will end in a tight, low-scoring draw which is unsurprising considering the position of the two teams in the table.
