With six Premier League games finished, there are no signs of Mohamed Salah slowing down for Liverpool.

The Egyptian has three goals and four assists this season, showing everyone that he is still committed to the Anfielders.

Just three weeks ago, every Premier League media outlet claimed Salah was bound for Saudi Arabia. Yet, just as Liverpool promised, Salah was not going anywhere.

The club claimed Salah was worth more staying at Anfield for at least another season than being sold.

So far, Salah has done everything possible to make the Reds an early-season title contender. After six matches this season, Liverpool are just two points off league leader Manchester City. The Reds took 16 points from a possible 18 on offer.

Their only slip-up was a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on opening day. While the Premier League media continues to talk about Arsenal, Manchester City, and even Tottenham, Liverpool have quietly showed they should be in consideration for the title.

Sure, Liverpool’s defence looks fragile. The once mighty Virgil van Dijk is often second-best in one-to-one situations these days.

Anyone who saw Jarrod Bowen’s goal for West Ham at Anfield will have witnessed at centre-back that not long ago had the agility to get in front of the forward’s header.

Still, Liverpool have Salah scoring goals and assisting them. Often considered just a goalscorer, Salah is also a creator of goals. He averages 0.38 assists per match, which puts Salah in the 95th percentile of fellow attacking midfielders and wingers.

Salah is in his seventh season at Anfield. During the Egyptian King’s reign at the club, he has tallied four seasons with 10 or more assists.

Indeed, in each of the last two seasons, Salah tallied 13 and 12 assists, respectively. He is on pace to once again register more than 10 assists.

Darwin Nunez’s improved finishing this season has helped Salah’s assist total. Had the Uruguayan taken his chances last season, Salah may have finished with even more assisted goals.

Liverpool fans may be watching Salah play his final campaign in red. Salah will turn 32 next summer, and despite being a club legend already, he may fancy a few seasons playing in the Middle East.

If the Reds were able to cash in on the Egyptian next summer, it could see them earn a large sum of money for a player over the age of 30.

But regardless of the fee that Salah may go for, he is worth far more to Liverpool than any transfer fee paid for him.
