The UEFA Women’s Champions League has reached the quarter-final stage. On Tuesday evening, two of the continent’s biggest clubs will lock horns in Portugal.

Benfica welcome French side Lyon to the Estadio da Luz, with both teams looking to gain a first-leg advantage ahead of next week’s decider.

Can the visitors maintain their unbeaten record in this season’s competition? Or will the hosts end Lyon’s hot streak? Keep reading to find out what Forebet’s algorithm predicts.

Benfica head into Tuesday’s clash on the back of a 1-1 draw with Damaiense, leaving them five points clear at the summit of the Portuguese top flight.

The Eagles have lost just one of their 17 league matches this season, picking up 14 wins and two draws to remain in control of their domestic title race.

Benfica also lost only one of their six Champions League group games, suffering a 5-0 defeat to Barcelona before notching back-to-back wins and three straight draws.

After holding Barcelona to a 4-4 draw on Matchday 6 – coming from 2-0 down to rescue a point – the Reds will be confident of frustrating Lyon.

As for the visitors, they claimed a comfortable 4-0 victory over Fleury last time out, racking up 67% possession and 20 shots for good measure.

Impressively, Les Fenottes remain unbeaten in the French top flight this season, having won 16 of their 17 games to maintain a seven-point lead at the summit.

Lyon also enjoyed an unbeaten group-stage campaign in the Champions League, registering four wins and two draws to win Group B without any issues.

Better still, Lyon have scored 25 goals in six UCL matches this term (4.2 goals per game), conceding just five at the opposite end of the pitch (0.8 goals per game).

Head-to-head: The H2H stats do not look pretty from a Benfica perspective, as Lyon boast a 100% record against the Portuguese outfit.

During the 2021-22 Champions League campaign, Lyon claimed back-to-back 5-0 victories over Benfica, so the Eagles will have bad memories about this fixture.

Team news: Benfica’s Marie-Yasmine Alidou d’Anjou has scored four Champions League goals this season, while Jessica Silva has bagged two goals and two assists.

Sitting atop the Champions League scoring charts, Lyon’s Ada Hegerberg and Kadidiatou Diani have each netted five goals this term.

If the previous meetings between Benfica and Lyon are anything to go by, Tuesday’s clash will likely be a one-sided affair in favour of the away team.

Forebet’s predictive analytics model expected Lyon to secure a high-scoring victory in Portugal, scoring over 3.5 goals on their way to defeating Benfica.
