Qualifying for the finals could come down to goal difference. Therefore, Alianza Petrolera must ensure they score goals against Rionegro Aguilas. Alianza scored seven goals and conceded just four times in their five playoff games. They collected nine points from 15 on offer.
Rionegro Aguilas are on a three-game losing streak. They conceded the most goals in Group A, with 15 goals. Rionegro scored just three times, the fewest number of goals in the group. Alianza won their last two games versus Rionegro.
The last six games between Millonairos and Independiente Medellin were split into two wins, two draws, and two losses apiece. Millonairos went unbeaten in their last two games versus Independiente.
Millonairos are top of Group B with 10 points from 15 points available. However, they are coming off a 2-1 loss to Chico FC. The defeat could open the door for Chico or America de Cali to overtake Millonairos on the final day of the semifinals.
Independiente Medellin can’t progress to the finals. They took just two points from their five games. Medellin struggled to score, tallying just two goals in five fixtures.
America de Cali and Boyaca Chico FC drew their last two matches, including their first semifinal match-up. Both games finished with identical 1-1 scores.
Chico are unbeaten in three straight games and fresh off a 2-1 win over group-leader Millonairos. A win and Millonairos' loss or draw would send Chico into the finals.
America de Cali are fresh off a 1-0 win over Independiente Medellin. The win ended a two-game losing streak. America de Cali cannot progress to the finals round. However, they can ruin Chico’s chances of making the finals.
