On Monday, veteran Argentinian international Sergio Aguero signed a two-year deal with Catalan giants Barcelona.
The news was not exactly a surprising one considering that the diminutive forward had been linked with a switch to the Nou Camp for months.

Aguero joins the Blaugrana as a free agent, with his contract at Manchester City expiring at the end of this month.
It was announced earlier this year that the veteran forward wasn’t going to extend his contract and a switch to Catalonia seems like a logical one.
The Catalan giants seem to be concentrating on bringing in free agents this season, with Memphis Depay, and Georginio Wijnaldum both reportedly close to joining Ronald Koeman’s club after young centre-back Eric Garcia rejoined as a free agent from Manchester City.
A move to Barcelona may just be an excellent end to his football career in Europe for a player who turns 33 on Wednesday. Injuries have plagued Aguero this season, limiting his game time.
He was fit enough to come off the bench in both City’s last league game of the season and also the Champions League final, with the latter ending in a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea.
A change of environment may just lead to a change in luck for the forward. If Barcelona can keep him injury-free this season, then Barcelona may have a bargain.
One factor that may prove vital is that he is good friends with Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi. This factor could certainly help Aguero settle in at the Catalan club.
With his finishing skills and the creative players at Barcelona Aguero should prove a hit, even if he isn’t likely to start every game for Ronald Koeman’s team.
The move certainly seems to suit City, as they proved last season that they can be successful without Aguero, as he barely featured. The move to Barcelona was a no-brainer for both the team and the Catalan giants.

With very little risk attached, the Catalan giants may have made a shrewd signing.
