With Manchester City still in with a genuine chance of securing every trophy on offer to them this season, the question on everyone’s lips is – can Pep Guardiola’s side win the quadruple in 2021?

The Premier League title seems to be wrapped up, the EFL Cup final takes place in April, while Man City find themselves in the latter stages of both the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Let’s take a look a Man City’s prospects in all four competitions.

    • The Premier League title is all but secured

Having won 15 straight games in the Premier League, something would have to go dramatically wrong for Man City to throw away the top-flight title. With a seemingly unassailable lead at the top of the table, Guardiola’s men could secure the trophy with multiple games to spare this term.

Man City have won two Premier League titles under Guardiola, sealing back-to-back triumphs in 2017/1 and 2018/19. Liverpool ended the Cityzens’ dominance last season, but they look set to reclaim the crown in the coming months.

    • Man City are the Champions League favourites

Man City conceded just one goal in six Champions League group games earlier in the campaign, winning five of their six matches en route to finishing top of Group C. Guardiola’s side made light work of Borussia Monchengladbach in their Round of 16 first leg, notching an easy 2-0 away win.

Barring a catastrophe, Man City will book their place in the quarter-finals in a couple of weeks. Of course, the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG will take some stopping. But there is no reason why Man City can’t win the Champions League this season.

    • Tottenham await in the EFL Cup final

The Cityzens’ record in the Carabao Cup over the past few years is frightening. In fact, Man City have won five of the last seven EFL Cup finals and head into the 2021 showpiece looking to record their fourth straight triumph in the competition.

With an indifferent Tottenham team standing between City and yet another EFL Cup win, Guardiola’s men are expected to beat Spurs and get their hands on the Carabao Cup trophy in April’s final.

    • Man City are three wins away from FA Cup glory

Having already seen off Birmingham, Cheltenham and Swansea – scoring three goals on every occasion – Man City have an FA Cup quarter-final tie with Everton to look forward to later this month.

City’s FA Cup record isn’t quite as good as their EFL Cup record, although they won the 2019 final by thrashing Watford 6-0. Man Utd, Chelsea and Leicester are still in the competition, but Man City have already beaten those teams this season.

    • The verdict

At the end of the day, there really aren’t too many reasons why Man City can’t win the quadruple this season. After all, Guardiola’s side are on a seemingly unstoppable winning streak at the moment.

It looks like the Premier League title is heading to the Etihad Stadium once again, while Man City are expected to beat Tottenham in the EFL Cup final. If they can navigate their way through the Champions League knockout stages and the last eight in the FA Cup, they could achieve something seriously special.
