Tottenham made light work of Watford on Saturday afternoon, hammering the Hornets 4-0 at White Hart Lane. Spurs were superb throughout and the score could have been far worse for Walter Mazzarri’s visitors.

The game also saw the return from injury off the bench of England striker Harry Kane. The 23-year-old had missed the last three top-flight games through injury. His return will definitely aid Spurs’ challenge for the Premier League title.

However, with just seven games of the season remaining it seems like the north London side have a bit too much to do to catch league leaders Chelsea at the top of the table. The Blues remain on course to win the title and are seven points clear of Tottenham.

The leaders have recovered well from a shock 2-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace by recording two consecutive home wins in the Premier League, including a 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Despite the Palace defeat, it looks unlikely that Antonio Conte’s side will slip-up enough times for Tottenham to nip in and win the league. The Blues would likely need to lose two games and draw one of their remaining games and Tottenham would have to win all of their remaining games to catch up.

The team from north London do have what looks like a favourable fixture list heading into the final straight of the league. However, Chelsea now look have regained their form and poise.

There is no doubt that Mauricio Pochettino is building a very capable squad at White Hart Lane. The likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane would cause any defence problems, while their defence is also very solid.

With some more quality players added to their squad to boost their strength-in-depth Tottenham will be real contenders for the Premier League next season. This season they have left themselves just a bit too much to do.
