Adam Lallana has had a strange career at Liverpool so far. The England midfielder arrived on Merseyside from Southampton for a fee of around £25million in the summer of 2014.
The midfielder struggled in his first few seasons with the Reds and fans were asking questions about the fee the club had paid for him. However, this season the 28-year-old has been a vital cog in the Reds team. Lallana has gone from zero to hero. Very few fans are now talking about his price tag.
On Tuesday night, the midfielder once again shone as the Reds recorded a 4-1 win over Stoke City at Anfield. He got on the scoresheet and was a constant threat to the Potters backline.
The attacking midfielder has scored seven goals and produced six assists this season in the Premier League. The midfielder has already bettered his statistics from last season. He will be confident of adding to his tally in the near future.
Lallana has not only impressed for his club side, he has also impressed for England. Suddenly he is a key player for the Three Lions, who have struggled for creative inspiration of late. Lallana is now arguably one of the first names on the both team sheets.
While the more flamboyant players like Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane get a lot of the credit for Liverpool’s stellar attacking play under Jurgen Klopp, Lallana has also made a vital contribution.
Jurgen Klopp’s style of play and management seems to have brought the best out of Lallana this season. The German’s presence at Anfield has obviously helped Lallana’s development.
Adam Lallana was always considered a talented player earlier in his career. However, it is not until this season that the attacking midfielder has finally started to fulfil his potential.
