West Ham in need of striking additions

West Ham in need of striking additions

According to Sky Sports, West Ham are interested in bringing in strikers Simone Zaza of Juventus and Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony, as the Hammers seek to strengthen their forward line prior to the transfer deadline in a week’s time.

Bilic has revealed that he has talked to the club hierarchy are that they are bringing in fresh attacking options. The Hammers are currently without injury-prone striker Andy Carroll and Senegalese international Diafra Sakho through injury, while Ghanaian attacking midfielder Andre Ayew, who can play up front, is also sidelined.

The Irons finished seventh last season in the Premier League table, but a number of the teams around them have strengthened their squads this summer.

Bony looks to be surplus to requirements at Manchester City, as Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho are the first choice strikers at the club. City boss Pep Guardiola is believed to be looking to sell the 27-year-old Ivorian before the transfer window shuts.

Simone Zaza faces a similar situation at Juventus, where his way to a starting position is blocked by the likes Gonzalo Higuain, Paolo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic. The Italian international is unlikely to see much game time this season.

Zaza’s agent has already stated that a move to West Ham would definitely be an option for the striker, but it remains to be seen if the Irons can hammer out a deal with the Bianconeri.

West Ham looks desperately short of forwards at the moment and both strikers have proven in top European leagues that they can score goals, so both could be decent signings for the Irons.
