Celtic could thrive under Brendan Rodgers

Celtic could thrive under Brendan Rodgers

When Brendan Rodgers was appointed as Celtic boss earlier this summer it was a coup for the Hoops. Rodgers is still highly regarded as a boss, despite a perceived failure at Liverpool in the Premier League.

His football philosophy has not changed and at Celtic, he has a chance to implement that style. In many ways, Celtic and Rodgers is the perfect combination. The Hoops will always attract players, but Rodgers and his philosophy will attract players that may not have joined before.

For the SPL he has attracted some very good players. The signings of Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair, and Kolo Toure all look to be good ones for the men from Glasgow.

Dembele is a highly promising striker, who has made a bring start at the club, while Toure brings a wealth of experience and Sinclair has a chance to fulfil his potential.

The Hoops have dominated the Scottish top-flight since the demise of arch-rivals Rangers. The Gers may be back in the SPL, but it will take them time to get accustomed to life back in the top-flight. In the meantime, Rodgers will be implementing his style of play on his players.

It is in Europe that the Hoops face their biggest tests this season. They are through to a Champions League play-off with Hapoel Beer-She, who caused a big shock by knocking out Greek side Olympiakos in the last round.

Rodgers brand of football should prove successful on the European stage, where the Hoops have faltered in recent years. Under the 43-year-old Celtic should have a bright future.

Rodgers is still very young in terms of bosses, but he knows the game and will help the Hoops prosper in the coming campaigns.
