The last few seasons have been a rather strange experience for everybody associated with Juventus. The Bianconeri dominated Serie A, winning nine straight Scudetto’s.

That reign ended last season when their former head coach Antonio Conte lead Inter to the Italian top-flight title.

Last season the team from Turin had to settle for fourth-place in Serie A and a Champions League spot. The 2020/21 season was considered a transitional season.

The current campaign kicked off in a poor manner after the return of Massimiliano Allegri as head coach.

The former Milan boss had doubters amongst the Juventus fans and it seemed those doubters may have been right in the early months of the campaign.

However, slowly but surely the old lady has dragged themselves up the table. At the time of writing, they are just a point behind fourth-place Atalanta, although La Dea does have a game in hand on Allegri’s charges.

There is still work to do for sure for Allegri to help Juventus become a force once again. Their recent eight-match unbeaten run in Serie A has raised spirits and expectations amongst the fans.

The good run of form is closer to the sort of form they showed regularly in their nine-year stranglehold of Italian the top-flight than their early-season form.

The Bianconeri may not be back to the top of the Italian football tree, but things are certainly looking a lot brighter than they were in the early part of the Serie A campaign. It will take time for Juventus to get back to challenging for the Scudetto, but for now, they are in good form in the league.

The only negative for the team from Turin of late was the long-term injury picked up by Italian international Federico Chiesa.

However, even without the former Fiorentina star, Juventus look to be in ominous form when it comes to a return to the top-four spots in Serie A in the near future.
