Late last week Norwich dispensed with the services of popular head coach Daniel Farke. The timing of the sacking seemed rather strange.
The decision came just hours after the Canaries first Premier League victory of the season, a 2-1 win at fellow promoted team Brentford.

However, the Norwich board had seemingly planned the move before the win over the Bees. The decision may seem harsh considering that the German has helped the team from Norfolk to promotion to the top-flight on two occasions.
The problem is that the Canaries are once again struggling with life in the Premier League, picking up just five points from their opening 11 league games of the campaign.
The way the team were playing was highly similar to when they suffered relegation last time they were in the top-flight.
The Canaries were the whipping boys of the league in that season. They were easy to play against and were far too open, conceding far more goals.
In short, Farke approached the campaign in the same way he did their last relegation season. He made the same tactical errors and Norwich played with the same naivety that led to relegation last time out.
Farke’s philosophy worked wonders in the Championship, but it has fallen flat in the Premier League.
The German deserves immense praise for his contribution to Norwich during his managerial tenure at the club.
However, football is a ruthless business and the club’s hierarchy have now given the Canaries hope of surviving the drop, instead of keeping the faith with their head coach longer into the campaign.
The club will now have the chance to look for a head coach that may well get that bit more out of the available squad and possibly prevent the Canaries from a quick return to the Championship.
