Balotelli struggling to fulfil his potential after Euro 2016 snub

Balotelli struggling to fulfil his potential after Euro 2016 snub

Italy boss Antonio Conte has decided to leave AC Milan’s on-loan striker Mario Balotelli out of the Azzurri’s Euro 2016 squad. The striker has endured a difficult spell on-loan at the Rossoneri from Liverpool.

The striker has made 23 appearances for AC this season and found the net just three times, a disappointing return for a player that was once considered one of the brightest young players in world football.

At 25 years-old, the striker is failing to fulfill his potential and wasting what look like massive potential earlier in his career. This summer could be a big turning point for the former-Inter star.

At the last European Championships Balotelli produced some fantastic displays and illustrated his strengths perfectly. He was expected to push on from there and fulfill his potential. Instead he has struggled to make an impact at both Liverpool and AC Milan.

This summer Balotelli’s future is surrounded in doubt, as Liverpool does not want their £15million signing back at the club. However, AC Milan does not want to sign the striker on a permanent basis.

It seems that clubs are scared to take a risk on signing the striker this summer, as his attitude towards the game has been questioned bosses and fans of his previous clubs. The media have also questioned why he has not developed from the last European Championships.

Where Balotelli will be plying his trade in the future is unclear at the moment, but something has to change or the Italian international striker will not come anywhere near fulfilling his supposed potential.
