Liverpool earned a hard-fought victory at Stamford Bridge to extend their winning streak and maintain a five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
The Reds took the lead on 14 minutes when Trent Alexander-Arnold fired home a brilliantly worked free-kick.
It was 2-0 after 30 minutes as Roberto Firmino was left unmarked in the box to head home Liverpool’s second.
Chelsea were denied an equalizer when Cesar Azpilicueta’s strike was ruled out for offside by VAR.
The hosts had a number of chances – most notably when Tammy Abraham was clean through on goal but only managed to hit Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian from close-range.
N’Golo Kante pulled a goal back for Chelsea on 71 minutes. The Frenchman weaved through the Liverpool defense before arrowing a superb left-footed strike into the net.
However, despite late Chelsea pressure, Liverpool held on to claim all three points.
This means that Liverpool have now won all six of their Premier League game this season; scoring 17 and conceding 5.

The home side had the majority of possession and also registered over twice as many shots as the visitors.
Still, Frank Lampard’s men were wasteful in front of goal and only scored once from 13 attempts.
On the other hand, Liverpool were clinical. The Reds only hit the target three times, with two of those attempts resulting in a goal.
Man of the Match: N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)
Despite ending up on the losing side, Kante was outstanding and was fully deserving of the Man of the Match award.
His energy and box-to-box qualities showed Chelsea exactly what they have been missing in recent weeks.
Not only did he screen the backline admirably, he also got forward at the right times and capped off his return from injury with a stunning solo goal.
