The Baggies will still be hurting from their painful play-off penalty shootout defeat.

West Brom spent eight seasons in the Premier League and very nearly made it back to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

With Slavan Bilic now at the helm, can the passionate Croatian lead the club back to the promise land of English football.

    Last season

West Brom spent very little time outside of the top-six all season and eventually finished the 2018/19 campaign in 4th place; setting up a play-off tie with local rivals Aston Villa.

The Baggies didn’t make an immediate return to the Premier League however, the majority of the fans will be satisfied with the club’s season overall.

Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez both scored 20+ goals last season but the team will have to find goals from elsewhere this season as neither player has stayed with the club for the new campaign.

    Next season

Slavan Bilic has been appointed as manager prior to the start of the new campaign and his appointment has excited Baggies’ fans.

The former West Ham boss has a strong squad to work with and could be the man to guide the club back to the Premier League.

Despite losing key players in the transfer window, West Brom have made some shrewd signings.

Kenneth Zohore has been brought in to try and fill the void left by Gayle and Rodriguez while Romaine Sawyers also looks to be a bargain at just over €3m.

Both players’ experience at this level will be pivotal to the team this season however there is a sense that they may not be able to replicate the form of West Brom’s departed strikers.

Despite numerous changes to the squad and the coaching staff, West Brom are still one of the bookmakers’ favorites for promotion.
