This will be The Canaries’ first season back in England’s top-flight after three consecutive seasons in the second-tier.
Daniel Farke has revolutionised the team’s style of play, guiding Norwich to the Championship title last season with an impressive total of 94 points.
Can the dynamic German manager continue to take the club forward and keep Norwich City in the Premier League?
Last season
Norwich got off to a shaky start and registered just one win in their opening six matches of the 2018/19 campaign.
However, the team’s form quickly took a turn for the better and remarkably – from November until May – Norwich found themselves outside of the automatic promotion places for just one game week.
The club’s impressive end to the season saw them go unbeaten in their last fourteen matches, winning ten and drawing four on their way to the title.
Teemu Pukki was the club’s top scorer with 30 goals in 46 appearances and his 29 league goals were enough to see him claim the Championship Golden Boot.
Next season
Pukki will be key to Norwich City’s hopes of Premier League survival. The Finnish striker was outstanding last season but many have questioned his ability to continue to score at such a high rate.
He was undoubtedly the signing of the summer last year after joining from Brondby on a free transfer but can he handle the significant step-up into the top-flight?
Norwich have made no high-profile signings in the transfer window so far and this will certainly be worrying the fans.
Patrick Roberts has been re-signed on loan from Manchester City following a successful 2018/19 campaign with The Canaries but the failure to yet secure any players with Premier League experience could prove costly.
Norwich begin life back in the Premier League with a trip to Anfield. Liverpool have scored five goals in four of the last six meeting between the two sides and Farke will be hoping that his team can buck the trend in their season opener.
