Analysing Forebet's team of the tournament after a month of thrilling football
It is a toss up between Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jordan Pickford to get the number one spot, but Italian lifted the trophy at the end of it all, so he gets in.

Both keepers saved two penalties in the shootout, whilst Donnarumma conceded four goals to England’s two. However, the AC Milan man was called into question much more and saved his nation throughout and was officially awarded the Player of the Tournament.
Arguably the best left-back in the world, Luke Shaw’s name is in English folklore alongside the likes of Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst as the only player to score in a major final.
The Manchester United man also provided three assists and was relentless in both attack and defence throughout.
A goal in the final to equalise, a sweetly taken penalty to match in the shootout, Leonardo Bonucci led by example for Italy. Not a single player took him on during the tournament, and he was easily the best centre-back at the tournament.
With four assists, nobody bagged more than Steven Zuber. He left the tournament with an admirable 0.50 chances created per game, and an assist in each of his four games.
Despite missing a penalty in the final to win it, Jorginho was near enough faultless at Euro 2020. His usual defensive mindset was equipped with an attacking sprinkle alongside the likes of Marco Verrati and it resulted in the very best of Jorginho.
The Chelsea man also scored the winning penalty against Spain.
Xherdan Shaqiri always seems to turn up for major finals. In fact, he has now bagged four goals in them, making him Switzerland’s top scorer at such tournaments, three of which came in this one, including one assist.
If there were a prize for the biggest surprise of the tournament, without question, Kalvin Phillips would have it in the bag. The Leeds United man was the first player to represent the club with England since Alan Smith in 2004, which in itself shows how much his back was to the wall.
Phillips was sensational alongside Declan Rice, controlling England games with excellent forward passing and brilliant defensive displays.
It’s not often that a player who exited at the round of 16 gets into the Team of the Tournament, but it’s also rare for a player to score four of his country’s five goals.
Emil Forsberg managed to do that, following a brace against Poland, the winner from the spot against Slovakia and an equaliser against Ukraine.
Should you win the top scorer award at a tournament, the likelihood of you not getting in amongst the best XI at the competition is rare. Cristiano Ronaldo ended Euro 2020 by outsourcing everyone but Patrik Shick, but with one assist to Shick’s none, he bagged the Golden Boot.
Ronaldo also scored all his goals in three group games, which included three penalties and two from open play.
Harry Kane had a shaky start to Euro 2020 as Raheem Sterling stole the show throughout the group games. However, a goal against Germany, a brace against the Ukraine and the winner against Denmark rocketed England into the final, and he, as a result, gets in.
The best goal at Euro 2020 will be debated, but the frontrunner is without a doubt, Shick, who netted from just past the halfway line against Scotland when he caught David Marshall out his goal.
Shick bagged five goals and even equalised against Denmark in the quarter-finals, and with five goals from five games for a nation like the Czech Republic, the striker is a must-have in this team.
