Kenya take on Senegal at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Monday in a Group C crunch match.

Both teams sit level on three points after two matches and a win for either side would see them qualify for the round of sixteen.

Senegal have the advantage of a superior goal difference meaning a draw would be enough to see them reach the next round.

Kenya began their campaign with a 2-0 loss to Algeria and were completely outplayed in their tournament opener.

In their next match, they twice came from behind against Tanzania to claim all three points in a thrilling encounter.

They went behind after six minutes but equalized just before half-time through forward Michael Olunga.

Tanzania managed to score again before the break however Johanna Omolo leveled to score just past the hour mark.

Olunga then scored his second of the game to secure Kenya’s first AFCON 2019 win and keep their tournament hopes alive.

Senegal opened their account with a comfortable 2-0 win over Tanzania. They registered 24 shots in their first match and dominated the possession throughout.

Their chances of qualification were dented as they were then beaten 1-0 by Algeria. Despite having more of the ball and producing more shots than Algeria, Senegal failed to take anything from the match.

Despite the wealth of talent Senegal has produced over the years, they have never lifted the AFCON trophy. They were runners up in 2002 and will be desperate to go one better this year.

This is Kenya sixth appearance at the finals but they are yet to make it past the first round. They will see this as a great opportunity to go further than ever before.

The two teams have only met on three occasions previously. Senegal remain unbeaten in this fixture with two wins to their name, with the other match ending in a draw.

Senegal have a much stronger squad then Kenya and arguably have the strongest squad of all the countries in the competition.

We are likely to see a cagey affair on Monday, with neither side wanting to lose the match with so much at stake.

With that being said, Senegal should come away with all three points and book their spot in the last sixteen.
