The Premier League action starts early on Sunday as we have a lunch time kick-off between Watford and Leicester City at Vicarage Road.

Watford are hoping to finish in 7th place this season and they start the weekend level on points with Wolverhampton Wanderers who currently occupy that position. Leicester City will hope to move into the top half of the table from 11th place and could even challenge for 7th themselves in they put a decent run together.

Watford come into this game on the back of a heavy defeat at the hands of Liverpool.  The Hornets will want to put the 5-0 drubbing they received at Anfield to the back of their minds as they prepare for this game and think about the decent run of form they were on prior to that defeat.

Trends show Watford are undefeated in ten of their last twelve matches in all competitions, with the defeats coming against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Watford have lost one of their last five at home but have won only three of their last ten and wins have not been easy to come by at Vicarage Road.  However, Watford fans have seen plenty of goals and there have been over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last twelve home games in the Premier League.

Leicester City will be under the guidance of new manager Brendan Rodgers for the first time this season. The former Liverpool manager has plenty of experience in the Premier League from his time at Anfield and Swansea City plus enjoyed a successful spell at Celtic.

However, he has work to do as Leicester City have won only one of their last eight matches in all competitions.  The good news is that win came last time out in the 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at home but this is set to be a bigger test.

The Foxes have failed to win any of their last three Premier League away matches, going down 4-3 at Wolvers and 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur.  However, in-between those two defeats they did pick up a good point in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Leicester City have scored in fourteen of their last fifteen away Premier League games.

Looking ahead to the team news and Watford hope to have Kiko Femenia back to full fitness and he could be joined by Isaac Success and Sebastian Prodl who have both been struggling with injury.

Leicester City will be without Marc Albrighton who is out for the season and Daniel Amartey who is expected to be out until March.  It will be interesting to see Brendan Rodgers’ first team selection.

Watford have been difficult to beat at home recently and Leicester City’s away record suggests they are going to find it tough to win the game.  The Hornets could just sneak this one, with both teams scoring.
