Levante and Girona difficult to separate

Levante and Girona difficult to separate

On Friday evening, Levante host Girona in La Liga, as both teams look to push closer to the top six and the European spots.

There is little to separate the two teams in the Spanish top-flight. In fact, they are level on 22 points along with Valencia.

Despite their solid league position, Levante have hit a run of poor form of late, winning just once in their last seven league outings. Last time out the home side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Rayo Vallecano. The result means that Levante have now conceded at least two goals in five of their last six league outings.

Levante have been inconsistent on home soil this season in La Liga, having won just three of their last eight home games in the Spanish top-flight. The home side’s recent La Liga games at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last ten matches.

Like the hosts, Girona’s La Liga form has dipped of late, as they have won just once in their last six games in the Spanish top-flight. Last time out the visitors drew 1-1 with Getafe, which means that Girona’s last four league games have produced under 2.5 goals. In fact, seven of their previous nine La Liga games have produced under 2.5 goals.

Girona have enjoyed mixed fortunes on their travels of late in La Liga, but have won just two of their last seven home games in the Spanish top-flight. Just like their recent league games in general, the visitor’s away games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six matches.

The previous two meetings between these two teams have finished in draws. Forebet predicts that this game will follow suit and finish in a low scoring draw.
