The fixtures keep on coming in the English Premier League and on Wednesday night we have arguably the biggest game of the week as Arsenal welcome Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium in a huge London derby.

Arsenal need the points to keep pace with the top four teams and hold off the challenge of Tottenham Hotspur who lurk below them prior to their own match at Swansea City on Tuesday evening. If Tottenham win that game, Arsenal could find themselves in 6th place at kick-off.

With Manchester United winning 2-0 at Everton on Monday evening, Chelsea have dropped down to 3rd in the Premier League table but know a win would be good enough to send them back into 2nd place behind Manchester City.

Trends show Arsenal are undefeated in their last eight matches in all competitions, with two wins in the Premier League, one in the League Cup and another in the Europa League.  However, there have also been four draws for the Gunners, all of which have come in the Premier League against Southampton, West Ham United, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

Three of those fixtures are ones which Arsenal need to be winning if they are to challenge at the top of the Premier League.

At home, Arsenal have lost only one of their last sixteen Premier League games, which was the 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester United earlier this season.  You must go back to October 2016 to find the last time Arsenal failed to score at home in the Premier League.

Chelsea make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium having thrashed a poor Stoke City 5-0 at home in their previous Premier League fixture.

Trends show Chelsea have lost just one of their last fourteen games in all competitions and that defeat came at West Ham United in the Premier League on the 9th December.  Since that defeat, Chelsea have won four and drawn one of their five league games, including victories over Huddersfield Town, Southampton and Brighton.

Away from home in the Premier League, Chelsea have not had things all their own way and have won two of their last five matches.  In addition to the loss at West Ham United, Chelsea were held at Liverpool and Everton.

Chelsea have kept one clean sheet in their last four away Premier League games.

Team News and Arsenal are without the injured trio of Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud.  Full-back Sead Kolasinac was taken off against West Bromwich Albion and is unlikely to feature in this game.  Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil are doubts.

Chelsea will be without David Luiz and Charly Musonda who are injured.  Andreas Christensen should come back into defence following injury and there could be a place in the starting XI for Davide Zappacosta, Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

This a heavyweight clash in the Premier League and while Arsenal should get on the scoresheet, expect Chelsea to do the same in what could be an entertaining draw.
