Lille host Marseille on Sunday night in Ligue One, as the home side attempt to kick-start their league after a disastrous start to their campaign.
Lille have not won since the opening weekend of the campaign, which means they are now eight league games without a victory. In fact, they have lost three of their last four Ligue One games, including last time out when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Rennes.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have struggled for goals in recent Ligue One games, failing to score in four of their last five league outings.
The home side’s form on home soil in Ligue One has been poor of late, as they have failed to win in their last four league games, drawing twice and losing twice. They have also scored at least two goals in three of their last four home games in Ligue One.
To make matters worse for Lille, they have failed to win any of their last six games against Marseille in all competitions and have lost four of the games in that run.
Marseille have enjoyed an inconsistent start to their Ligue One campaign. However, the visitors are still fifth place in the French top-flight and if other results go their way they could finish the weekend in the European spots.
Rudi Garcia’s side are unbeaten in their last five league games, although they have drawn their last two league games against Strasbourg and last time out PSG. The visitors have been prolific in front of goal of late in Ligue One, scoring at least twice in their last five league outings.
Marseille’s recent away form in Ligue One has been decent, as they have lost just one of their last 11 games while winning three of their last five outings on their travels.
Lille’s form under the highly rated Bielsa has been poor and Forebet predicts that Marseille will add to the home side’s woes by recording a victory at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
