Reds to shoot down Eagles on Sunday afternoon

Reds to shoot down Eagles on Sunday afternoon

Liverpool can move one step closer to sealing their place in next season’s Champions League as the Reds host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Merseysiders have been on a good run of form of late, having gone seven games unbeaten in the Premier League, picking up five wins in the process including against Arsenal and arch-rivals Everton.

Jurgen Klopp’s side’s recent form on home soil has been good, as the Reds have won four of their last five league games at Anfield, while also scoring two or more goals in their last five league outings on home soil.

Interestingly, though, Liverpool have been rather poor in defence at Anfield, keeping just one clean sheet in their last seven league games on home soil. With the likes of centre-backs Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan doubtful for this clash that Reds defence is unlikely to be any more solid than in recent home games.

Crystal Palace arrive on Merseyside seven points clear of the relegation zone. Another win would all but guarantee the Eagles their Premier League status for next season. That recent good history at Anfield will certainly mean that Sam Allardyce’s side head into this clash in confident mood.

Palace’s form has also really picked up of late and Allardyce’s side have won five of their last seven Premier League games, suffering just one defeat. The visitors have won two of their last three away games in the top-flight but lost 3-1 at Southampton in their last away game.

A big feature of Palace’s recent upturn in fortunes has been the form of former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, who has scored three times and produced one assist in his last four top-flight appearances. The Belgian striker will be looking to capitalise on any weaknesses in that possibly makeshift Reds backline.

Despite the Eagles recent good form, Forebet predicts that the home side will pick up a win that could move them closer to Champions League qualification.
