Hull to record a vital win against Burnley

Hull to record a vital win against Burnley

At the start of the Premier League campaign new-boys Hull City were regarded as a dead cert for relegation. The Tigers defied expectations for the first couple of weeks of the season under Mike Phelan, before a poor run of form that saw them drop into the relegation zone.

The team from Humberside have looked a far better unit under Portuguese boss Marco Silva. On Saturday afternoon the Tigers have the perfect chance to move out of the drop zone as they welcome travel-sick Burnley to the KCOM Stadium.

Like Hull, Burnley were promoted last season from the Championship. However, Sean Dyche’s men sit comfortably tenth in the table. That comfort is due to a very strong home record, though.

The Clarets form on their travels has been the polar opposite to their home form, as the side from Lancashire have picked up just one point on their travels in the top-flight, losing their last seven games in the league on the road in the process.

The home side could not wish for an opponent with a worse away record. Literally, as Burnley have the worse away record in the top-flight.

Performances have improved of late for Hull, but they have been handed difficult fixtures in recent weeks with games against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Silva’s team have an inconsistent record of late in the top-flight, having won two, lost two and drew one of their last five games.

The Tigers are much stronger on home soil, as they have lost just one of their last seven games in the Premier League at the KCOM Stadium and have also scored two or more goals in their last three home games in the league.

Hull have to be fancied to record a win in this one and that is exactly what Forebet predicts. A win in this clash would see Marco Silva’s side move out of the relegation zone and increase the belief that the Tigers can avoid the drop this season.
