Hornets to escape Bournemouth with a point

Hornets to escape Bournemouth with a point

Not much has been going the way of Watford and boss Walter Mazzarri of late. The Hornets have won just one of their last nine Premier League games and on Saturday head to the south coast to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The Hornets recent run of four defeats in their last six outings has seen them drop to 14th place in the table. If results go against them this weekend the Hornets could be just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Last time out the Hornets ended a two-game losing streak in the top-flight by drawing 0-0 at home against Middlesbrough. A recent problem for Mazzarri’s side has been scoring goals, as illustrated in the goalless draw with Boro. The Hornets have now failed to score in four of their last six league games.

To add to their woes, the Hornets have suffered defeat in their last five away games in the league, failing to score in their last three outings on their travels.

That poor away record will be put to the test by 11th place Bournemouth in this clash. The Cherries have been inconsistent in the top-flight of late, but have suffered just two defeats in their last nine home games in the top-flight.

One encouraging fact for the visitors is that the Cherries have been poor defensively on home soil of late, conceding two or more goals in four of their last home league games.

Both sides will be looking to gain maximum points to give themselves breathing space from the bottom three. However, neither side have found it easy to win in the top-flight.

Forebet predicts this game will end all-square, which will do neither side much good in their attempts to move away from the relegation battle raging beneath them.
